A workshop on the mid-infrared instrument for TAO 6.5m telescope (TAOMIR) was held on July 24, 2009. Sufficient exchanges of opinions about the specifications, the performances, and the scientific cases of the TAOMIR were conducted. The TAO group at Institute of Astronomy has started scientific observation in the near infrared wavelength at a 1m infrared telescope on the summit of Mt. The 1-m telescope construction has been completed at the summit of Co. Chajnantor
1-m telescope On March 15, 2009, the 1.0-m University of Tokyo Atacama Telescope was assembled at the summit of Co. Chajnantor, and a test observation instrument with a CCD camera was also installed. In preparation for the first light, we are developing peripheral instruments and adjusting the telescope and the observation instrument. The picture shows the assembled telescope in the dome.

The University of Tokyo Atacama Observatory 1m telescope is now under construction at the summit of Mt. Chajnantor. On March 9, the rotating dome structure was craned and installed onto the lower structure of the enclosure. The 1-m miniTAO telescope and its dome arrived in Calama city, at a distance of about three and a half hours away by car from the planned construction site of Mt. Chajnantor. Once dismantled after making the temporary assembly in Calama, the telescope and the dome will be transported to the summit of M.
