Spatial Resolution

The spatial resolution of MIMIZUKU observations is determined by the combination of the seeing condition and the diffraction limit. The seeing condition varies in a range of 0.3-1.3 mm (see here). The diffraction limit is determined by the effective telescope diameter of 6.15 m. The expected spatial resolution obtained by taking the root sum square of them is shown in the figure below. In the long-wavelength mid-infrared region, spatial resolution close to the diffraction limit can be achieved, but it can be affected by seeing in bad conditions.
