Infrared Simulator (1994)


The Infrared Simulator (IRSim), located on the 3rd floor of the Advanced Technology Center of the National Astronomical Observatory at Mitaka, is the largest infrared telescope in Japan. The main purpose of this telescope is to test various instruments for the SUBARU telescope in Hawaii, but it is also used for scientific observations.
